Acoustic Neuroma (Vestibular Schwannoma) is a Schwann cell derived tumour arising from the Eighth cranial nerve (hearing and balance nerve), found in the Cerebello-Pontine Angle (CPA) and skull base region. Because of its location and the nature, its management requires a multidisciplinary team effort with dedicated clinicians. The World Health Assembly will meet in Geneva on Friday to vote on an international action plan to address hearing loss throughout the world. Australia is a member of the Assembly and has actively supported development of the draft resolution and action plan.
